You'll be only too well aware of the wide range of illnesses and injuries that you can encounter. So you'll want to make sure you have the best training in place for you and your staff, so that you can respond quickly and in the right way each time a situation arises.

We offer several different paediatric-focused first aid courses, so that you have the choice of the best option to meet your needs. The course that best suits you and your setting will depend on a number of factors, including some or all of the following:
2-day Paediatric First Aid Course (Level 3 RQF)
Duration: 12 hours
Format: Face-to-face
Who is it for?
Our 2-day Paediatric course is particularly suitable for those who need the an Ofqual-regulated (RQF) course that meets the requirements of Ofsted and the Department for Education's EYFS Framework, including:
Day 1 Content
Unit 1 also includes practical assessments for CPR and AED for children and infants, recovery position, choking and wounds and bleeding. Finally, you will complete a multiple choice questionnaire which covers other aspects of the unit.
Day 2 Content
On the second day, you will complete Unit 2 entitled "Managing Paediatric Illness and Injury". In this unit, you will learn how to provide first aid to an infant and child:
Unit 2 also includes one practical assessment (Management of Fractures) and one multiple choice questionnaire.
Additional Qualification Information
This qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of the Resuscitation Council (UK) and Skills for Health Assessment Principles for First Aid Qualifications, and is specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Department for Education's EYFS Framework.
This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide first aid to children (including babies) when dealing with an emergency situation, chronic or sudden paediatric illness or Paediatric injury.
It comprises 2 mandatory units with a total value of 2 credits. On successful completion candidates are awarded a certificate that is valid for three years.
How long is it?
Minimum contact teaching hours apply to this qualification. The training takes 12 hours, usually delivered in two full days, but by arrangement this can be split into more sessions (additional charges apply).
How is it delivered?
Full Face-to-face - in your setting:
In this mode, it's delivered in two 6-hour training days (usually starting at 9am). By arrangement this can be split into more sessions (additional charges apply). It is primarily available on your premises in the East Anglia, Greater London and Midlands areas. However if you have a specific requirement, do get in touch, and we'll let you know if we can travel out to you, and will provide you with a quote including all training, course materials, certificates and expenses.
Full Face-to-face - at our venue in Bedford:
This is the same course as above, however we run periodic courses at our venue in Bedford. This can be more cost-effective if you have between one and four staff who need their training. If you don't see a date to suit you on our Bedfordshire course schedule, don't worry - get in touch and we'll do our best to help.

Blended Paediatric First Aid Course (Level 3 RQF)
Duration: 6 + 6 hours
Format: Online + Face-to-face
Who is it for?
Our 12-hour blended Paediatric course is suitable for the same audience as the 2-day course above, but has the benefit of only requiring one day of face-to-face training. The remainder of the content is taught through an online module that you can start, pause and resume as often as you like for the duration of your licence.
This benefits those who find it more difficult to block out full days of training for staff, have limited training room availability, or who like to learn online at their own pace.

The face-to-face day provides enhanced learning carrying on from the e-learning module, and adds practical and multiple choice assessments. The content includes:
Additional Qualification Information
This is awarded as the same qualification as the 2-day course above and so is again based on the recommendations of the Resuscitation Council (UK) and Skills for Health Assessment Principles for First Aid Qualifications. it also meets the requirements of the Department for Education's EYFS Framework.
How long is it?
Both your online module and the face-to-face training will take around 6 hours each to complete, so your training overall will be the same 12 hours as the full face-to-face course.
How is it delivered?
Blended (online + face-to-face) - in your setting:
Your first 6 hours of training will take place online. This can be started, paused and resumed as often as you like. You have 90 days to complete the course from the date that you first register .The online module must be completed prior to your face-to-face training. Your face-to-face module is a combination of theory and practical, including assessments, and takes 6 hours to complete.
Blended (online + face-to-face) - at our venue in Bedford:
This is the same course as above, however we run the face-to-face element periodically at our venue in Bedford. If you don't see a date to suit you on our Bedfordshire course schedule, don't worry - get in touch and we'll do our best to help.

1-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course (Level 3 RQF)
Duration: 6 hours

Who is it for?
Our 1-day Emergency Paediatric course is suitable for those who need a good understanding of emergency first aid for children and infants but who don't need training on the full EYFS Framework syllabus. For example it would be suitable for:
