Mental Health

Just as Important as Physical Wellbeing

While first aiders have been looking after the welfare of staff, customers and visitors for years, it's only recently that mental health has started to receive the attention it deserves in the workplace.

The HSE estimates that up to 57% of all staff sick days are lost due to mental health problems - in particular stress, depression and anxiety.

So, far from being a 'nice-to-have', a good understanding of mental health issues and good provision of first aid for mental health in the workplace is crucial for staff welfare and for an effective, profitable organisation.
