Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Course

Top up crucial skills and learn more about heart conditions with our AED Training course

First Aiders practising CPR with a defibrillator during and AED training course

Be Confident in using your AED

Use of defibrillators is now taught in all first aid courses, and that should be fine for those who've recently qualified.

But what about those who trained over a year ago, or who haven't been trained at all?

If your staff need a top-up of their skills, or they want to learn more about the three key problems that affect the heart, this course will help.

And if you have a defib on your premises but have staff who don't know how to use it, this course could give them the crucial confidence to use it when needed, rather than leaving it on the wall.

What's covered in your AED course?

The course runs for 3 hours, and covers the following content:

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Course

Duration: 3 hours
Formats: Face-to-face

Who is it for?

Our AED training course is for those working in an organisation which has its own defibrillator, but who are not confident that they would know how to use it in an emergency. It's also for those who would like a skills top-up between requalification courses, or those who would like to gain a greater understanding of heart conditions and their symptoms.

Please note that it does NOT replace a full 1-day or 3-day first aid qualification, and does NOT extend the certification period of your existing first aiders.

What does it include?

  • Dealing with an emergency situation
  • Care of the unconscious casualty (recovery position)
  • Basic CPR hands-on practise
  • Discussion, demonstration and practise in use of an AED device
  • Recognition & treatment of the three key problems that affect the heart:
    • Angina
    • Heart Attack
    • Cardiac Arrest
  • Choking

How long is it?

Our AED course runs for 3 hours, and can be scheduled to suit your working day, either morning, at afternoon or across the middle of the day.

How is it delivered?

Full Face-to-face - in your workplace:

In this mode, it's delivered in a single 3-hour block, at a time to suit you.
